What a great afternoon at Charterhouse! Congratulations to our Year 5 team that won their district tournament, coming through the semi-final and final on penalties. Congratulations to our Year 6 team who came 2nd in their tournament, narrowly losing 1-0 in the closing minutes of the final. Great performance!
|Hardball Cricket vs Park Mead||
Boxgrove competed in their first hardball cricket match on Thursday 25 June at Guildford Cricket Club. It was a stunning day, and a great experience! It was a very tough but competitive game. Parkmead's opening batsman saw them score 109-1, and Boxgrove battled really hard to reach 49-4 off of the 10 overs. Well done all!
A great tournament at St Bedes! A first competitive experience of rounders for many of the children but they played well as a team and emerged in 4th place.
Boxgrove hosted the district TriGolf event this year in the glorious summer sunshine. It was great to see so many children enjoying the sport! Boxgrove Year 3 came in a very close 3rd behind Sandfield and Year 4 won the event meaning that they qualify for the County Finals on the 1 July at Surrey Sports Park.
Congratulations to REDGRAVE house who emerged as overall winners of our annual sports day competition. A fantastic day shared by all across the school with all children competing for their houses in a range of activities. Well done!
|Year 3/4 Football vs Bushy Hill||
Congratulations to all children who participated in this fixture against Bushy Hill. Both Year 3 and Year 4 were victorious, with scores of 1-0 and 4-2 respectively. Well done all!
|Year 3/4 Football vs Sandfield||Some great young talent on show this evening - Boxgrove's footballing future looks to be very exciting indeed! Both teams played brilliantly together, and scored multiple goals against a very spirited Sandfield side.Thank you to all involved.|
|Year 5/6 Girls Football vs Bushy Hill||
Our Year 5 and 6 Girls football teams took another great stride forward against Bushy Hill, winning both games convincingly and setting an outstanding example for all of our younger girls!
Fantastic result girls, well done.
|Year 1 SportsHall Athletics||
In the final SportsHall event of the year, 12 children from Year 1 followed in the footsteps of children from Years R to 6 in competing at the Guildford Spectrum.
Once again the children participated in a number of fundamental movement games, supermarket sweep, bowling and target throw...just to name a few! Brilliant fun was had by all.
The children were very excited to learn that Boxgrove were, once again, overall winners! Well done Year 1!
|Year 6 Tag Rugby vs Sandfield||
Once again, Boxgrove welcomed Sandfield to play another round of competitive sport - this time Rugby. With help from Chris Bridge, the children had great fun learning new skills together before playing a game of tag rugby.

Year 3 Football Festival
Mr Woodcock took our Year 3 football team to St Joseph's to represent the school in a district football festival. Everyone played brilliantly and recorded scores of:
1-0 win vs Burpham, 2-0 win vs Holy Trinity, 0-0 draw vs St Josephs

|Year 5/6 Football vs The Raleigh and Bushy Hill||
Members of our Year 5 and 6 football teams competed in a round robin event vs The Raleigh and Bushy Hill.
All children played brilliantly against some tough opposition, but Year 6 came away with a win and a loss, whilst Year 5 won both their games.
Reception Multi-Skills Festival
On Thursday, 16 April 2015, 12 children from across Reception represented the school at a district Multi-Skills festival. The event was held at Guildford Spectrum alongside several other schools.
The children participated in a number of fundamental movement games, supermarket sweep, bowling and target throw...just to name a few! Brilliant fun was had by all.
Team scores were gathered and Boxgrove were overall winners! Well done reception!
County Lacrosse Competition (School Games)
On Wednesday, 15 April 2015, 8 children from Year 5/6 represented Boxgrove at the county Lacrosse competition. The event, part of the School Games, was held in brilliant sunshine at the Surrey Sports Park.
The children progressed through the pool stages winning all four games, 4-1, 4-3, 3-1, 3-1. This sent the team through to the semi finals as pool winners. A thrilling knockout stage followed...Boxgrove came from 2-0 down in the semi final to win 5-2 to set up a final with St Charles Borromeo. A closely fought game, the team narrowly lost out 5-4 but were complimented on some outstanding Lacrosse.
Well done to all involved! Now onto the National Finals!
District Tag Rugby Competition
On Wednesday 25 March 2015, 8 children represented Boxgrove at the district Tag Rugby event held at St Peter's Catholic Secondary School. It was a fantastic event, and all of the rugby on display was extremely impressive. Every single Boxrove child scored tries, and from the six matches that they played they only lost one. A big thank you to Mr Bridge for his time coaching the children.
Final result: 3rd Place (only 2 points behind 2nd!) Well done all!
Year 4/5/6 Cross Country vs Sandfield
|Well done to all of our runners who competed against Sandfield this Monday. Stand out performances from Evie E who won the Year 4 Girls race, Myles F who won the Year 4 Boys race, Phoebe M who won the Year 5/6 race and Jevan K who won the Year 5/6 Boys race. Congratulations to all who took part, it was a brilliant display of sportsmanship! Another great win for BG! Final result: BG 40 - SF 84.|
Year 6 Football vs Sandfield
|Another fantastic evening of sport! This evening we welcomed Sandfield to Boxgrove for a football fixture. After an end to end game, the final score was 8 - 3 to Boxgrove.|
|Year 5/6 Lacrosse vs Holy Trinity||Wow! What an evening! Today we had our first Lacrosse fixture against Holy Trinity. It was a learning curve for both teams, but after the rules had been explained we played four very exciting games, winning all four! Final scores were: 13 - 5, 8 - 3, 11 - 5, 10 - 8. Well done Boxgrove!|
|It's a Fish Out||This year 23 teams entered the "It's a Fish Out" event in Dorking. 8 children competed for Boxgrove in 8 survival activities, with all children performing outstandingly. Our two teams finished 1st and 5th! Our best result! Congratulations BG!|
|Tormead High 5 Netball||This Saturday 16 girls from Years 5 and 6 participated in the annual Tormead State Schools High 5 Netball Tournament. On a bright but chilly morning, our two teams played some fantastic netball! After the group stages Boxgrove were 2nd and 5th in the standings. The play off games then followed, and despite some brilliant teamwork we were narrowly edged out of a couple of games. The final standings saw Boxgrove finish in 4th and 8th. Well done all!|

|SEN Sports Taster||On the 5th March 2015, Boxgrove hosted a Guildford School Sports Association SEN Sports Taster Afternoon. We welcomed children from schools across Guildford for an active afternoon of TriGolf, New Age Kurling and Boccia. Everyone had a fantastic time and we look forward to our summer event!|

This Thursday it was the turn of Year 2 to embark on the journey to the Spectrum for Sportshall Athletics!
The team had a fantastic morning... participating in numerous field events such as javelin, hurdles and speed bounce before taking to the track for some running races!

This evening we welcomed Holy Trinity, St Josephs and St Bedes to Boxgrove for a Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby competition.
Some exceptional rugby on display from all teams, with our Boxgrove team coming home with a win, draw and loss record. Not bad at all for the first competitive fixture!
|District G&T Workshop||
Once again, a huge thank you to the Royal Holloway Women's team for running the Gifted and Talented girls football workshop. Girls from St Thomas of Canterbury and Boxgrove braved the cold to learn some new skills, make some new friends and play some friendly matches!

|Cross Country at Holy Trinity||Great to see all the participants braving the cold at Holy Trinity for another round of the GSSA cross country. Well done to all Boxgrove runners, with all children placing above 40th position in a strong field!|
|Year 3/4 Football vs Holy Trinity||A fantastic effort from both our Year 3 and Year 4 football teams who played away at Holy Trinity on Tuesday! Very proud of the effort and performance!|
|Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics||
Well done to all of our 25 athletes that represented the school at the district Sportshall athletics event held at the Guildford Spectrum.
We had a fun filled afternoon, and competed strongly in the tightly contested finals. Finally finishing in 5th place overall, only 40 points separated the top 5 teams!
|ESSA Swimming Gala||
On Saturday 31st January, we took a team of eight from yr 6, 4 boys and 4 girls to the English Schools Gala at Spectrum. We always say because the competition is tough the aim is to get into at least one final, and we got into 4!! The girls finished overal 5th out of 16 schools and the boys 8th out of 18 schools.
A great achievement and a credit to Boxgrove, well done to everyone.

Friday 23rd January - first competitive fixture for our girls footall A and B teams! All participants played brilliantly. One team narrowly beaten at the last whistle, and the other extremely unlucky not to score. Well done to all involved!
