13 July 2017 (by Nicky White (nwhite))

13 July 2017 TO: ALL YEAR 6 PARENTS / CARERS Dear Parent / Carer Please see below for several exciting activities we have planned in our last few weeks in Year 6. GEORGE ABBOT PE TRANSITION MORNING As part of the transition arrangements, the children who will be going to George Abbot in September are attending a PE Transition morning on Tuesday, 18 July 2017 at George Abbot School. The session will be held from 10.00am – 12.00midday. The session will give your child an opportunity to experience PE at George Abbot and to provide them with the chance to experience the environment and expectations of secondary school PE. There will also be the opportunity to speak with current Year 7 students about their experiences and achievements. We will walk the children to this event and then they will return to Boxgrove in time for their normal lunch. Every child must be wearing full Boxgrove PE kit and sun screen and have a hat and water bottle with them. Those children who are not going to George Abbot in September will remain at Boxgrove for a morning of PE. CAFÉ B MORNING Rachel Nicolaou at Café B has generously invited the Year 6 children to Café B on Friday, 21 July from 9:30am. The children will go in small groups and enjoy a free cupcake and glass of squash. Café B will be open to the parents as usual if you wish to come along too! If your child has an allergy and so will be unable to have a cupcake then please speak to one of the Year 6 teachers about an alternative. YEAR 6 LEAVERS’ EVENING We look forward to welcoming you all to celebrate Year 6 and all they have achieved during their time at Boxgrove on Wednesday, 19 July at 7:00pm. Please ensure that your child is wearing full school uniform including school shoes and hair tied back for the girls for this formal evening. BOOK AMNESTY It’s come to that time of the year when we are checking our bookshelves. Please would you have a good hunt at home: under beds, on shelves, behind cupboards, for any Boxgrove books that your child has borrowed. We are keen to ensure that the new Year 6 have access to all the books that your children have enjoyed.
